. . .

Another semester is coming to a close, to the relief of student-athletes everywhere. Here are study tips to help you finish the semester strong.

It’s difficult to balance academic responsibilities with athletic commitments. At Free Game Program, we’re always going to emphasize academic success over athletics, but realize that both are required for you all to be considered “student-athletes.” To get better at your sport, you must put in hours of hard work and countless repetitions. But how do you get better in the classroom? Allow us to school you with study tips.

Figure out how you study.

Some student-athletes are only bad at studying because they don’t know their learning style. Auditory learners learn by hearing and listening, visual learners, by reading or seeing pictures, and tactile learners by touching and doing. This test from EducationPlanner will better gauge which one you are. It also offers study tips that best suit your style. Maybe you’re making flashcards. Auditory folks should read them aloud. Tactile learners should put them in groups to show relationships between ideas. And so on.

Study hall is a study tip.

Create a schedule that outlines your classes, practices, games, and study time. Having a routine can help you stay organized and manage your time effectively. Free Game here. Do as much homework or studying as you can before a practice or game. If you win or have a good workout, more time to do what you want. If you lose? At least you still don’t have homework to do.

Take 5 … and care of yourself.

Prioritize your physical and mental health by getting enough sleep, eating healthy, and taking breaks when needed. This can help you stay focused and perform better both academically and athletically. While studying, take regular breaks to stretch and have water.
